Anne Dolowitz
Anne's commitment to the UMFA's education efforts has been nothing less than remarkable. She is currently completing her 10th year as a docent, and served previously as the chair of the docent council, a demanding job. She also served on the Museum's diversity committee. As the UMFA made the transition to a new building, Anne recognized the need for enrichment program opportunities. She initiated the weekend and summer docent programs, and created a mentoring program for new docents. During a critical period in which the docent training programs were refashioned, Anne worked as an intern and helped to insure a smooth changeover. As if that were not enough, Anne and her husband, Sandy, have served for many years on the UMFA's Special Exhibitions Council, which supports the Museum's exhibitions program. She has also co-curated three exhibitions. Her work with that group is typical of everything Anne does, at the Salt Lake Art Center, The Salt Lake Art Barn, and with many other organizations: She gives her heart and soul to make our community a better place to live. She has had a tangible, spectacular impact on the Museum's programs and visitors. We feel fortunate to know and work with her”. David Dee |
